WHAT'S UP DOC?

The following members of the medical community and the Board of Medical Directors of the WTF (Women's Tri-Fitness), MOCC (Men's Obstacle Course Challenge) and CFC (Children's Fitness Challenge) believe these sporting events are based on dedication to health, fitness, and the competitive spirit. The members of the Board are as follows:

Jeffrey Rosen, M.D.
Is a Board Certified physician who practices internal medicine in central New Jersey. He is a graduate of Rutgers College, New York Medical College, and completed his internship and residency at Rutgers Medical School and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He believes the Women's Tri-Fitness Challenge embodies the positive spirit of sport, health, stability, self-activation and identity.

Robert Meirowitz, M.D.
Is a gastroenterologist in Princeton, New Jersey. He is a clinical assistant professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical College. He is a passionate sports fan and onetime standout lacrosse player at John Hopkins. Dr. Meirowitz has passed has own athletic legacy on to his own two children and endorses the benefits of exercise and fitness to his patients in his practice that centers on the treatment of digestive disease.

David Charnock, M.D.

Is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Vermont Medical School and a skilled head and neck surgeon specializing in diseases of the ears, nose, and throat. He is a graduate of New York Medical College and a former surgeon specialist and commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Charnock oversaw the medical needs of the Navy Seals. He is an avid outdoorsman and passed this on to his four children, 2 boys and 2 girls, all of who are elite skiers.

Nancy Somers, M.D.

Is a Board Certified internist who practices in the New York area. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds advance degrees from Tufts University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She prides herself on "never missing a workout." Within her specialty medical practice that concentrates primarily on women's health issues, she consistently and enthusiastically preaches the benefits of cardiovascular fitness.

Christine Lydon, M.D.

Earned her M.D. at prestigious Yale University Medical School before relocating to Southern California. A sports and fitness buff since high school, Dr. Lydon soon chose the active, athletic lifestyle rather then medicine. In recent years, she has written and directed sports videos, she has acted in TV, film and commercial productions, and has been a consultant for health, nutrition and fitness concerns. She is a recognized expert in the medical applications of sports nutrition.

Mimi Zumwalt, M.D.

Is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she also serves as a Team Physician. Prior to this position, she served time in the Army as a Flight Surgeon and is a Desert Storm war veteran. She is also the proud mom of 2 children, Miko and Demi. When she finds time for herself she teaches Group Exercise-Cardio-kickbox and Body Pump classes. Her other pastimes include snowboarding, writing poetry, and competing in WTF Challenges.

Nader Kasim, M.D.

Completed his specialty fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Yale University. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania after completing Yale University. Dr. Kasim has done extensive research in knee injuries for the athletic population since medical school and completed a five-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut. His main interest has been sports medicine and physical fitness and has been the team physician for numerous college football teams including Yale. Dr. Kasim was also a team physician for the Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League.

Robert Goldstein, M.D.

Is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Goldstein is a graduate of Princeton and received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He did his internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Dr. Goldstein has been on the teaching faculty at the University of South Florida Medical School and Medial Director of the Dialysis Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. Although Dr. Goldstein practices in Tampa and Israel, he exercises regularly and has been known to be the last person out of the gym.

David Rosenheck, M.D.

Is a Board Certified specialist in gastrointestinal disorders in Central New Jersey. He has previously been selected as one of the top 100 physicians in the Metropolitan Area. Dr. Rosenheck completed his training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He believes physical fitness has great healing powers and is usually one of his first prescriptions for patients in his specialty practice.

Paige Kreegel, M.D.

Is a Board Certified emergency medicine physician practicing in Port Charlotte, Florida. Dr. Kreegel is a graduate of New York Medical College and did his internship at Memorial Hospital, University of Tennessee. In addition to being in private practice, Dr. Kreegel is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He is also president of American Medic of Charlotte County. An avid weight lifter, Dr. Kreegel believes the WTF is a leader in today's fitness movement.

Camille Eberle, D.O.

Grew up in Wisconsin and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. She went on to attend Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. As a Sports Chiropractor and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, she emphasizes performance enhancement and core development. Dr. Eberle enjoys outdoor activities, weight training, and running. She has started a practice at The Studio, an extreme training facility located in Dallas. She is a WTF athlete and avid supporter.


Michael Williams, D.O.

Is a chiropractic physician who graduated from Florida State University and Texas Chiropractic College. He has specialized in athletic injuries and has treated numerous professional athletes. Dr. Williams has enjoyed a successful family practice in the Tampa Bay area for 24 years. His wife, Jamie, and he are the proud parents of 3 beautiful girls and are strong believers in the importance of physical exercise and good nutrition.
